'Starting counselling with Sandra is one of the best things that I have done for myself. We started speaking almost 4 years ago when I was feeling overwhelmed with life, and since then Sandra has helped me to unpick the things that were overwhelming me as well as provide understanding as to why they might have been overwhelming in the first place.
There are a number of reasons that I have continued to speak to Sandra. She is welcoming and friendly, yet always professional. I appreciate that sessions can be light hearted when the mood allows, and are not always serious and sombre.
One of the misconceptions that I had when I started counselling was that my counsellor wouldn’t engage in conversation, but would only ask questions that I would answer. This isn’t the case, and Sandra explains things in a kind and helpful way, often ‘hitting the nail on the head’!

‘I wasn’t quite sure why I started therapy but just knew I needed some help to dig a bit deeper. My journey with Sandra has been more about self discovery as opposed to healing or bereavement, adversity or other reasons people might associate with therapy. “Sandra has helped me in a way that I never expected. I had thought about talking to someone for years, on an off, about something that happened in my childhood, but never acted upon it. I thought what happened to me, all those years ago, wasn’t really affecting me and my day to day life, I thought that I was fairly normal so didn’t see the benefit of bringing it all up. But then things happened which caused me to question my beliefs about my stability and so I sought out a therapist, and found Sandra (and her cats).
During our sessions, I made some revelations that I would never have made on my own.
